Course Description:
Visit the center with lifelike exhibits.   Walk along a trail that gives new meaning to Wetlands. 
The center holds about thirty nature videos available to teachers and students who visit the center.  A reading corner is available where students might listen to a nature story.  The trail takes you to the edge of the wetlands where wildlife is abundant.  This is the space to see wildlife at its best.

The instructor, Jacqui Grabel, has been in education since 1960.  Her last teaching assignment was at Hickman Elementary teaching third grade. Jacqui has worked with the Discover Program for 13 years and loves to travel with other educators sharing her knowledge of historic sites, Native Americans, and cross cultural enrichment.

Course Objectives:

1)  Socio political - to think critically about how government gains power over people, how power and responsibility are shared between citizen and government.
2)  Become knowledgeable about one of the largest mitigation projects in the U.S.

MIRA COSTA COLLEGE (San Elijo Campus)
Take Hwy 5 north to Manchester exit.  Left on Manchester to light & turn left.  Meet in Mira Costa College parking lot that faces Manchester.
